The article explores innovative strategies in licensing and commercialization of intellectual property (IP) developed by universities and research institutions. It highlights two successful cases, including the licensing of a novel yeast strain for sour beer production, which was licensed pre-patent to a global yeast manufacturer, and a joint venture between a healthcare system and venture capitalists to accelerate the commercialization of inventions by frontline workers. |
