Abstrakt:	The article discusses research on the effectiveness of a gene therapy for inherited deafness, conducted by Yilai Shu and colleagues, published in the June 5, 2024 issue of "Nature Medicine" journal. Topics explored include the aim of the therapy to restore hearing function in both ears of deaf children, the administration of copies of the human OTOF transgene via adeno-associated virus, and the improvement in speech perception and sound localization observed following treatment.
