Abstrakt: This article discusses the various roles of endothelial cells (ECs) in the body beyond their traditional function of regulating blood flow and preventing clotting. The authors explore the involvement of ECs in tissue regeneration, cancer biology, and immune regulation. They highlight the heterogeneity of ECs in different organs and tissues, the mechanisms of angiogenesis in bone tissue, the contribution of EC dysfunction to cardiac disease, and the role of ECs in the tumor microenvironment. The article emphasizes the need for further research to fully understand the functions and origins of ECs and their potential therapeutic applications in regenerative medicine, anti-tumor therapies, and immunology. The authors declare no conflicts of interest and provide references for further reading. [Extracted from the article]
