Abstrakt: | Researchers at Marche Polytechnic University in Ancona, Italy have published a new report on the link between adeno-associated virus type 5 (AAV5) infection and interstitial lung disease in systemic sclerosis (SSc). The study found that AAV5 was detected in the lungs of SSc patients with interstitial lung disease, and a molecular complex formed between AAV5 and platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha (PDGFR alpha). This complex was found to induce immune responses and generate composite peptides and epitopes recognized by agonistic immunoglobulins in SSc patients. These findings provide new insights into the pathogenesis of SSc. [Extracted from the article] |
