Abstrakt: | A recent study conducted by researchers at the Department of Neuroscience Rehabilitation in Italy examined the prevalence of suicide-related posts on Instagram. The study found that Instagram has the highest number of adolescent users in Italy and also the highest number of suicide-related posts. The researchers analyzed 303 Italian-language Instagram posts related to suicide and discovered that most of the posts were written by ordinary people and had a predominantly biographical and pro-suicide content. The study also revealed that posts with a neutral approach received the most likes, while posts with a negative or positive approach to suicide or references to psychiatric disorders had the most hashtags. The findings suggest the need for guidelines and online prevention strategies to address suicide on Instagram and encourage psychologists to utilize the online community for prevention and support.
