A study conducted by the Medical College of Wisconsin aimed to establish normal Lindegaard Ratio (LR) values in healthy children aged 10-16 years in order to define pediatric cerebral vasospasm. The researchers used transcranial doppler and carotid ultrasonography to measure velocities in the middle cerebral artery and extracranial internal cerebral artery. The study found that the LR threshold for cerebral vasospasm in children may be lower than the commonly used value of 3. These findings contribute to the understanding of cerebral vasospasm in pediatric patients. [Extracted from the article] |
