A study conducted by researchers at Ain Shams University examined the efficacy and safety of two concentrations of topical minoxidil (5% and 10%) in the treatment of male pattern hair loss (MPHL). The study included 51 patients with MPHL who were divided into two groups and treated with either 5% or 10% minoxidil for six months. The results showed that both concentrations of minoxidil were equally effective in treating MPHL, but the higher concentration (10%) led to a greater improvement in frontal total hair count and more side effects. The study suggests that higher doses of topical minoxidil may be associated with better results but also increased side effects. [Extracted from the article] |
