Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California, explored the interactions between genetically distinct glioblastoma (GBM) cells and the tumor microenvironment (TME). The researchers used imaging-based techniques to analyze primary and recurrent GBM tumor tissues and found that the relationships between genetic and TME diversity differ in these two types of tumors. The study also revealed the presence of a perivascular niche in recurrent GBM, which is enriched in immunosuppressive macrophages. These findings highlight the importance of GBM tissue organization in tumor evolution and emphasize the genetic and spatial dependencies in GBM. [Extracted from the article]
