Abstrakt: Sunscreens are normally based on synthetic chemicals with a high capacity to absorb sunlight at the region of UVB (320–290 nm) and UVA (400–320 nm) spectrum. In this study, Kaolin has been used as a physical material in sunscreen that will reflect UV light. Meanwhile, coffee bean oil is used as chemical material due to its properties that contain a high percentage of antioxidants and polyphenols. The UV analysis shows that the addition of kaolin and into emulsion give better results compared to the basic emulsion. Sample F7 gives the best result with the value of SPF 15. The F7 also gives a good value for a skin analysis (TEWL and Hydration test). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
