Abstrakt: | The article examines the polyvocal structure and portrayal of agency of Haitian survivors and memorialization of Haitian victims of earthquake in Myriam Chancy's novel "What Storm, What Thunder." It discusses the motif of Haitians saving themselves in the face of failing aid efforts, representations of Haitian Vodou, limitations of Christianity as a tool for making sense of the earthquake, and the idea of reintegrating earthquake victims into the city as a vision of recovery. |
