Abstrakt: The article presents some procedures enabling us to authenticate officially used, albeit underdocumented and not always reliable (near-)contemporary Polish microoikonyms and microtoponyms. These are in principle aimed at multiplying and, subsequently, re-examining variants of a given name attested independently by different types of written and/or oral sources. This is done in order to learn which of them could have been transmitted in an undisturbed way and can be accounted for in etymological terms more plausibly. After providing some general remarks related to the research of the Polish Jura toponymy, we identify certain graphically distorted cartographic forms from that area (Biakło < Brodło, Ciesnyć ~ Ciesęć < Ciesięć, Szczełkica < Szczerbnica) and try to justify etymologically the variants considered authentic.
