Abstrakt: According to a commentary in the Annals of Internal Medicine, conversations about influenza vaccination are more effective when healthcare professionals individualize discussions of influenza risks and benefits. However, it is also important to have health care systems in place. A systematic review found that factors such as perceptions of vaccine efficacy, vaccine safety, advice from healthcare professionals, and access to free vaccination strongly influence influenza vaccination rates in adults. Additionally, different intervention approaches may be necessary to increase awareness of influenza vaccination among unvaccinated individuals of different sexes and age groups. Measures such as increasing vaccination locations and times for younger generations and better explaining the benefits and risks of the vaccine for older generations are recommended.
