This article reports on a rust disease found on Nymphoides peltata, an aquatic plant commonly known as "yellow floating heart," in Korea. The disease was discovered during surveys for biological control agents for Nymphoides. The symptoms included yellowish spots on the leaves, which developed into yellow to orange aecia. The causal agent was identified as Puccinia sp. through morphological examination and genetic analysis. This is the first report of Puccinia sp. on Nymphoides peltata in Korea, and further research is needed to determine its identity and potential impact on the plant. [Extracted from the article] |
