Abstrakt: In this paper, we derive a nonlinear model for stratified arctic gyres, and prove several results on the existence, uniqueness and stability of solutions to such a model, by assuming suitable conditions for the vorticity function and the density function. The approach consists of deriving a suitable integral formulation for the problem and using fixed-point techniques. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
