Abstrakt: The spotted lanternfly, an invasive species native to Asia, is causing significant damage to plants in the United States. While the insect may appear visually appealing with its red wings and black dots, experts are urging people to take action against the pest. The bugs were first discovered in Pennsylvania in 2014 and have since spread to at least nine states. Although spotted lanternflies do not pose a threat to humans, they harm plants by sucking sap and leaving behind a sticky substance that promotes mold growth. [Extracted from the article]
