Abstrakt: Free-Space Optical (FSO) has gained popularity as a wireless communication technology due to its adaptability and versatility in a variety of application contexts. The purpose of this study is to shed light on how the selection of these crucial parameters affects the performance and suitability of FSO systems. The present study examines the correlation between data rate, optical source, modulation scheme and FSO performance over varied range. This study examines the impact of the chosen data rate on the various aspects of design, deployment, and operation in FSO systems. The present analysis underscores the versatility of FSO technology, which possesses the capability to accommodate a broad range of data rate demands. These demands can range from a few megabits per second, which suffices for fundamental connectivity purposes, to multiple gigabits per second, which is necessary for applications that require substantial bandwidth. The findings of the study indicated that FSO system provides efficient communication for indoor application. If the weather conditions are favorable then it could be used for the outdoor applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
