Abstrakt: A study conducted by researchers at University College London (UCL) has identified five subtypes of Alzheimer's disease using a modified version of the Subtype and Stage Inference (SuStaIn) algorithm. The algorithm was adapted to handle missing data, allowing for the analysis of multimodal data from 789 participants in the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI). The subtypes were associated with different risk factors and showed distinct progression patterns. This research expands our understanding of the heterogeneity of Alzheimer's disease and provides insights into its progression. [Extracted from the article]
