A recent study conducted at the Hayatabad Medical Complex aimed to assess the frequency of low birth weight in newborns of anemic pregnant women at term gestation. The study included 169 pregnant women between the ages of 18 and 45 who presented with anemia. The researchers found that 21.30% of newborns born to anemic pregnant women at term gestation had low birth weight. The study suggests that a comprehensive approach to health education and anemia management in pregnant women is necessary to address this issue. [Extracted from the article] |
