Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of California explores the impact of diabetes on the immune system and its various components. The study suggests that diabetes can lead to impaired proliferation of immune cells and the induction of senescence, which may have similarities to the pathways of "inflammaging" commonly seen in the elderly. This dysfunction in the immune system can result in reduced immune response, increased infection rates, and reduced vaccine response in individuals with diabetes. The study also examines how certain diabetes drugs can induce immune senescence despite their benefits on glycemic control. [Extracted from the article]
