A study conducted in Sao Paulo, Brazil aimed to identify the risk factors for the nursing diagnosis of fall risk in elderly people living in the community. The study included 262 elderly participants, with the majority being female and widowed. The predominant risk factors identified were difficulty performing instrumental activities of daily living, cognitive dysfunction, and depressive symptoms. The study found that anxiety, impaired physical mobility, and difficulty performing instrumental activities of daily living were associated with a higher risk of falls in the elderly.
