Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital in South Korea aimed to identify risk factors associated with Achilles tendon re-rupture following operative fixation. The study analyzed data from over 43,000 patients who underwent surgical treatment for primary Achilles tendon rupture between 2008 and 2018. The findings revealed that male sex, younger age, and a prior history of Achilles tendinopathy were significant risk factors for short-term re-rupture. This large-scale study provides valuable insights into the factors associated with Achilles tendon re-rupture and highlights the importance of considering these risk factors in postoperative care.
