A study conducted at the National Hospital Organization Sagamihara National Hospital in Kanagawa, Japan, examined accidental allergic reactions (AAR) in Japanese children with immediate-type food allergies. The study found that the annualized AAR rate was relatively low during the COVID-19 pandemic, but half of the participants with AAR experienced moderate to severe symptoms. Low-dose reactivity was identified as a significant risk factor for AAR. The researchers concluded that children with low-dose reactivity require careful AAR risk management. This study provides valuable insights into the prevalence and risk factors of AAR in Japanese children with food allergies. [Extracted from the article] |
