A recent study conducted at the University of Baghdad explored the potential benefits of using ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) to treat rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The study involved adult rats divided into four groups, including a control group and groups receiving different treatments. The results showed that UDCA treatment led to a significant increase in body mass and a reduction in arthritic oedema score compared to the induction group. Additionally, UDCA therapy resulted in noticeable improvements in hematological and biochemical parameters associated with RA. Further research is needed to fully understand the potential of UDCA as a treatment for RA. [Extracted from the article] |
