Abstrakt: | A recent study conducted at Taizhou Municipal Hospital in China has explored the potential of electroacupuncture (EA) as a treatment for migraines. The researchers induced migraines in rats and then treated them with EA at specific acupuncture points. They found that EA reduced nociceptive behaviors and increased exploratory behaviors in the rats. Additionally, EA treatment mitigated mitochondrial damage and reduced reactive oxygen species levels in the brain tissues of the rats. The study suggests that EA at specific acupuncture points may alleviate mitochondrial dysfunction and treat migraines. [Extracted from the article] |
