Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers from the National Institute of Cancerology in Mexico City aimed to determine the prevalence of high-risk human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) types in the anal canal of people living with HIV (PLWHIV) who have a history of cancer. The study included 155 patients, primarily men who have sex with men, with a median age of 39 years. The results showed that 89% of the patients had at least one HR-HPV infection, with 62% having coinfection with multiple types. The study highlights the importance of anal cancer screening in PLWHIV with a history of malignancy. [Extracted from the article]
