Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, has identified a specific population of CD8+ T cells that exhibit both effector and stem-like profiles. These cells were found to be associated with limited persistence of simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). The research suggests that harnessing the functions of these CD8+ T cells could be a potential strategy for HIV control and cure efforts. The study was supported by various organizations, including the National Institutes of Health and the Mexican Government. [Extracted from the article]
