Researchers from Tianjin Medical University General Hospital have conducted a study on prostate cancer, specifically focusing on bone metastasis and circulating tumor cells (CTCs). Using protein-protein interaction networks and machine learning algorithms, they identified diagnostic markers for metastatic events in prostate cancer. They developed a bone metastasis-related genes prognostic index (BMGPI) based on differentially expressed genes in CTCs, which was found to be an independent predictor of prognosis in prostate cancer patients. The study also revealed associations between BMGPI and the immune microenvironment, tumor mutation burden, and efficacy of immunotherapy. [Extracted from the article] |
