An interesting question is the development of energy efficiency in post-communist economies in the Baltic region. After some countries in this region reduced their energy dependence on Russia, the question of energy consumption and efficiency in this region arises. Environmental safety for the world becomes quite important in this context. Hence, the purpose of this work is to research and summarize aspects of the determinants of energy efficiency and consumption in post-communist countries in the Baltic region. According to the analysis method, it was determined that the level of energy efficiency and consumption in the economies of post-communist countries in the Baltic region tended to decrease. Regression analysis was used to build a dependency of energy consumption and efficiency on economic, social, and environmental determinants, which showed a high level of dependence of the energy sector on external factors, to be more than 90% of energy consumption and its rational use can be explained by changes in the financial, social, and environmental sectors of the Baltic countries. Given the proven direct and homogeneous dependence of energy efficiency and consumption in the countries of the Baltic region on environmental determinants, measures were proposed to orientate the energy sector towards environmental safety.
