The construction industry has come under scrutiny for its negative impact on the environment, economy, and society. In response, green building practices have emerged as a solution to mitigate these effects. This article explores the implementation of green building principles, specifically focusing on natural lighting and landscaping. The Department of Chemical Engineering building at Campus 2 of Politeknik Negeri Ujung Pandang in Indonesia serves as a case study. By utilizing design tools such as BIM Tekla, ArcGIS, and DIALux, the study found that the third-floor classroom, especially classroom 3.1 had the highest illuminance. However, the parking area failed to provide shading between 11:00 AM to 02:00 PM, highlighting the importance of shade-tree integration in campus development. The study also demonstrates the interoperability of IFC data for integration with GIS and DIALux. Overall, this research provides valuable insights into the practical application of green building strategies and emphasizes the need for addressing environmental concerns in construction practices.
