This article discusses the use of endovascular aortic protection (EVAP) prior to retroperitoneal lymph node dissection (RPLND) for testicular cancer. RPLND is often performed after chemotherapy for metastatic testicular cancer, but it can result in vascular injury and bleeding. The study describes the use of EVAP in three patients, which involved inserting a stent graft in the aorta to prevent bleeding during RPLND. The procedure was successful in preventing fatal bleeding, but further research is needed to evaluate its efficacy and potential complications. [Extracted from the article] |
