The article discusses Project Taurus, a design for a Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV) conceived in 1999 in South Africa. The objective of Project Taurus was to meet the demand for a cost-effective 'non-aggressive' vehicle for peacekeeping and peace enforcement roles. The Taurus 110 was built using a heavy-duty Defender 110 chassis and drivetrain, with added armor to withstand close proximity attacks and limited protection against anti-tank mines and explosive blasts. The article also mentions other similar vehicles in the market at the time and the fate of the Taurus project. The only surviving Taurus 110 is currently on display at the Dunsfold Collection.
