Deutsche Bahn's (DB) 30-year history in the development of the Intercity Express (ICE) has armed the company with years of experience and a vast knowledge base in High-Speed Rail. The development of the ICE has connected rural and urban parts of the country together, reducing travel times even further through its rapid upgrade to higher speed railway lines. The ICE fleet first entered service in 1991 and has since undergone several upgrades regarding its speed, reliability and comfort with the most recent addition traveling at a top speed of 320 km/h. The ICE network has played a significant role in transforming travel in Germany, interconnecting all parts of the country with its fleet of 300 trains and over 30 routes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
