Abstrakt: A recent pilot study conducted in Mexico aimed to explore the feasibility and effectiveness of an electronic patient-reported outcome (ePRO) intervention for breast cancer patients. The study enrolled 50 women aged 20-75 who were diagnosed with stage I-III breast cancer and receiving neoadjuvant or adjuvant treatment. The ePRO intervention consisted of a web application for weekly symptom reporting and proactive follow-up by nurses. The study found that the intervention was highly usable and resulted in decreases in supportive care needs and increased quality of life for participants. However, challenges were identified for women receiving radiotherapy and those with low digital literacy or severe symptoms. The researchers concluded that the study provided evidence of the potential efficacy of the ePRO intervention and will make revisions for a randomized trial. [Extracted from the article]
