A recent study conducted by researchers from Xuanwu Hospital Capital Medical University in Beijing, China, explores the potential neuroprotective effects of statins in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). The study aims to validate the efficacy and safety of statins through a prospective randomized controlled trial. The primary outcome of the study is the perihaemorrhagic edema to haematoma ratio at 7 days, with secondary outcomes including mortality at 30 days, haematoma resolution rate at 7 days, and various other measures. The trial has been approved by the ethics committees of the participating hospitals, and the results will be disseminated in a peer-reviewed journal and conference reports.
