A recent study conducted by researchers at the Department of Pain Management in Ithaca, New York, explored the effectiveness of sustained acoustic medicine (SAM) treatment for chronic lower back pain. The study involved 65 subjects with chronic low back pain who were randomly assigned to either the SAM treatment group or the placebo group. The results showed that SAM treatment significantly reduced chronic lower back pain, improved physical activity, and led to a decrease in the use of opioid medication. The researchers concluded that SAM treatment may be a safe and non-invasive option for individuals with chronic discogenic lower back pain. [Extracted from the article] |
