Abstrakt: A study conducted by researchers at the University of Waterloo in Canada examined the cardiac response to physical exertion in Canadian football athletes. The study collected performance data from GPS and heart rate sensors worn by 30 male football players during games and practices. The researchers found that heart rate and heart rate recovery varied depending on factors such as game versus practice, position, and rest period. They also developed a new metric called cardiovascular cost (CVC) to measure the efficiency of the heart rate response to physical workload. The study concluded that these heart rate response metrics can be used to monitor and quantify ongoing fatigue in football athletes in real time. [Extracted from the article]
