A recent study conducted at the University of Michigan examined the use of porcine-apatite xenografts in maxillary sinus floor augmentation. The study involved 24 patients with severely atrophic ridges and used a two-stage crestal window sinus elevation protocol. The results showed that the porcine-apatite xenograft promoted new bone formation while being slowly absorbed. The researchers concluded that the xenograft material appears to be a good option for crestal window sinus augmentation. This study provides valuable insights into the use of xenografts in biotechnology and could have implications for future medical procedures. [Extracted from the article] |
