A recent study conducted at JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research in Karnataka, India, explored the use of photographic analysis as an alternative to traditional cephalometric analysis in orthodontic treatment planning. The researchers aimed to determine if photographs could be used with precision for orthodontic diagnosis. The study found that the photographic method was repeatable and reproducible, making it a practical and cost-effective alternative to lateral cephalograms, especially in cases that require a non-invasive option. The research provides valuable insights into the potential of using photographs for soft-tissue analysis in orthodontics. [Extracted from the article] |
