A new report from Southeast University in Nanjing, China, presents fresh data on Aspergillus, a type of fungus. The researchers isolated two new meroterpenoids, one new natural compound, and a new a-pyrone derivative from the mangrove endophytic fungal strain Aspergillus sp. The study confirmed the structures of these compounds through extensive analysis using spectroscopic data. The researchers also found that some of the isolates displayed moderate inhibitory effects against certain cancer cells.
