A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Genoa in Italy examined the accuracy of glucagon testing (GST) in diagnosing growth hormone deficiency (GHD) in young adults who had childhood-onset GHD. The study involved 97 subjects with GHD who underwent insulin tolerance testing (ITT), GST, and IGF-1 testing. The researchers found that a GST cutoff of 5.8 mg/L accurately diagnosed GHD in young adults with a high pre-test probability of permanent GHD. These findings provide valuable insights into the diagnosis of GHD in this population. [Extracted from the article] |
