Abstrakt: A new report from Shandong University discusses the lack of effective therapeutic targets for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) and presents findings on the potential role of Ubiquitin Specific Peptidase 21 (USP21) in ESCC progression. The research reveals that upregulation of USP21 accelerates the proliferation and metastasis of ESCC by stabilizing the G3BP Stress Granule Assembly Factor 1 (G3BP1) protein, which activates the Wnt/b-Catenin signaling pathway. The study suggests that targeting the USP21/G3BP1 axis could be a promising therapeutic strategy for ESCC patients. The research was published in the journal Oncogenesis. [Extracted from the article]
