This article reports that Los Angeles, California mayor Antonio Villaraigosa received a deafening standing ovation as he opened the 23rd Outfest film festival at the Orpheum Theatre. As the first mayor to attend the gay and lesbian film fest, his support roused the crowd before cast members from writer-director Gregg Araki's films presented him with the Outfest Achievement Award. |
