Abstrakt: This article discusses the synthesis, characterization, molecular docking, and antibacterial properties of tetrahydrobenzo[a]xanthene-11-ones. It highlights the use of multicomponent reactions (MCRs) in drug synthesis, which offer economic and ecological benefits. The article presents an efficient and environmentally friendly protocol for synthesizing these compounds and evaluates their antimicrobial activities. Molecular docking simulations were performed to analyze the interactions between the compounds and bacterial DNA-gyrase, and the results showed that the compounds interacted with the enzyme through hydrophobic interactions and hydrogen bonds. The synthesized compounds showed moderate antibacterial activity and could be potential starting points for the development of new compounds. [Extracted from the article]
