Abstrakt:	The article encourages pediatricians to talk to patients and families about water safety and prevention initiatives given the rising cases of drowning deaths. It presents prevention recommendations that include taking swimming lessons and weekend course with an emergency medical services team about rescue breathing and basic life support. It emphasizes the need for fences to separate the pool from the house, wearing a life jacket in watercraft, and treating children quickly after a submersion.
