Former Uvalde school police Chief Pete Arredondo and another former officer have been indicted on charges of child endangerment in connection with the 2022 mass shooting at Robb Elementary School. The charges come more than two years after the shooting, in which a lone gunman killed 19 fourth graders and two teachers. The botched law enforcement response has been widely criticized, and the U.S. Justice Department report documented failures in leadership. Efforts to reach Arredondo and the other indicted officer were unsuccessful. [Extracted from the article] |
