Abstrakt: A study on colonial Cliff Swallows in western Nebraska found that social foraging and information transfer among the birds has declined over the past 40 years. This decline in social behavior may be due to changes in flying insect distribution and abundance. The study suggests that the benefits of group living for these birds may change over time. The reasons for this shift are still unclear and may be related to overall changes in insect abundance, climate change, or landscape alteration. [Extracted from the article]
