Researchers at Jilin University in Changchun, People's Republic of China, have developed a nomogram model to predict the lymphovascular invasion (LVI) status in invasive breast cancer (IBC) patients. The model combines clinical factors with radiomics analysis of intra- and peritumoral regions extracted from preoperative digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) images. The study involved 178 patients split into a training dataset and a validation dataset. The nomogram demonstrated a reliable ability to predict LVI in IBC patients, with an area under the curve (AUC) value of 0.906 in the training dataset and 0.905 in the validation dataset.
