Researchers from the First Hospital of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine have conducted a study on autoimmune gastritis (AIG). The study focuses on the endoscopic features of early-stage AIG, which is characterized by a transition of collecting venules from a regular to an irregular arrangement and yellowish-white cobblestone-like elevations in the fundic gland region. Histologically, the study found pseudohypertrophy and protrusion of parietal cells into the lumen, along with hyperplasia of G cells, lymphocytic infiltration, and potentially pseudopyloric gland metaplasia. The researchers aim to provide clues for endoscopists to detect early-stage AIG. [Extracted from the article] |
