A recent study conducted by researchers at Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Fuzhou, China, explored the use of non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) as an adjunctive treatment for aphasia following stroke. The study reviewed 18 randomized controlled trials and found that NIBS combined with speech and language therapy effectively promoted the recovery of naming function in patients with post-stroke aphasia (PSA). The effects of this treatment were shown to be long-lasting. This research provides valuable insights into potential therapies for individuals with aphasia and stroke-related communication disorders.
