Abstrakt: A new study conducted in Singapore has found that releasing male Aedes aegypti mosquitoes infected with the wAlbB strain of Wolbachia can effectively reduce the incidence of dengue. The study involved large-scale field trials in four different towns, with releases of infected mosquitoes conducted twice a week. The results showed that the intervention led to a significant decrease in dengue cases, with an efficacy of up to 77.28%. This study highlights the potential of Wolbachia-mediated incompatible insect technique as a vector control solution for dengue in tropical cities. [Extracted from the article]
